Home to School Transport update, 25/08/2023

FVS have been hearing from many families who still haven’t heard about their child or young person’s travel arrangements for the new academic year. Earlier this week we ran a poll on Facebook to gather more information. We met with the transport team yesterday (24/08) and shared the findings of the poll along with all the concerns that we have been hearing. Following this meeting the transport team have provided the following update to those still waiting.

Message from the Surrey School Travel & Assessment Team …

Under 16’s awaiting travel arrangements

We are writing to inform you that confirmation of your travel arrangements has taken a little longer than planned this year to issue, after advising that you would have this information two weeks before the start of term. While we were aiming to provide a longer notice period, which we have achieved in many cases, we are still working hard to ensure that remaining travel arrangements are communicated.

Details of the collection and drop-off times will be issued to you by your assigned transport provider from the week commencing the 29 August onwards.

We apologise for the delay to the communication of this information as we approach the new academic year. If you would like to discuss your individual circumstances, you are able to request a call back from the Surrey School Travel and Assessment Team by speaking with our Contact Centre. You can also submit an e-Contact form available here.

Contact Centre opening times (0300 200 1004) will be temporarily extended by an hour from 0900-1800, Monday to Friday from 29 August to 8th September, to provide further support to families with school and school transport enquiries.
