The Surrey Transport Team have added some frequently asked questions (FAQs) regarding under 5’s home to school transport to the Local Offer, which can be found here: Surrey Local Offer Travel Assistance
We are aware that these FAQs do not cover all the issues that some families have raised, and have already highlighted further questions and information needed. We will share these when they are available. We continue to raise and challenge the issues we have been hearing from you in relation to under 5’s home to school transport with the Transport Team in our regular meetings.
If you have been refused transport due to your child being under compulsory school age, you will need to submit an appeal. The details of how to do this should have been given to you when you received your decision. With this appeal, it is important to include information that makes your exceptional and/or extenuating circumstances clear. We have requested further clarification from the Transport Team, regarding the evidence required to support exceptional or extenuating circumstances.
We have been assured that the Transport Team are looking at each appeal on a case-by-case basis.
Please do continue to share your experiences around under 5’s transport. You can do this by emailing contact@familyvoicesurrey.org
