Updated School Uniform Guidance

The new guidance on school uniform policy is a positive step toward better inclusion of pupils with SEND. It reminds governing boards to consider their duties under the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Equality Act 2010.

Schools are encouraged to review how their uniform policies affect pupils with SEND — exploring flexible, comfortable, and inclusive options where needed. Importantly, the guidance also stresses working in partnership with families to co-produce and regularly review uniform policies.
