Dear Parent Carers,

We’re pleased to share a helpful new resource with you regarding the Government’s SEND White Paper proposals.

We have been working with Rob Price, Director at HCB Solicitors, who has kindly prepared a clear and accessible fact sheet for our parent carer members. This briefing outlines the key proposals and what they may mean in practice for children and families.

Importantly, the document highlights that these proposals are not yet law. All current legislation and rights remain fully in place and must continue to be followed by local authorities, schools, and services.

The fact sheet covers:

  • What is being proposed in the SEND reforms
  • What remains unchanged right now
  • Possible future changes to EHCPs and support systems
  • Key areas of uncertainty
  • Practical points for parent carers

We hope you find this information helpful in understanding what is being discussed and, just as importantly, what has not changed.
