Family Voice Surrey met with the inspectors as part of the 2026 SEND Area Inspection to share the experiences and views of parent carers across Surrey.

SEND Area Inspection – Have Your Say

We have been notified today that Ofsted & CQC are inspecting Surrey’s SEND services. Over the next two weeks, inspectors will review information about SEND services in Surrey. This will be followed by an inspection visit in Surrey during the week commencing 5th October.

The inspection process has changed under the current framework, so we have created a one-page infographic explaining what this means for families and the different ways you may be able to share your views. Area Inspections no longer include a public meeting for parent carers. We want to be clear this is not a decision made by Family Voice Surrey or Surrey County Council. This change has been introduced by Ofsted and CQC as part of the new inspection framework.

The main way for parent carers to feedback their experiences is via the Ofsted and CQC survey which closes 9am Wednesday 30th September. This survey has been designed by Ofsted and the result are reviewed by them. If you need any help to complete the survey, we can do this, just email us at contact@familyvoicesurrey.org.

Family Voice Surrey Meeting with Inspectors

Next week Family Voice Surrey will be meeting with inspectors. We want to hear what’s working, what isn’t, and what needs to improve across education, health and social care from you before this meeting so we can share your views.

We are holding 2 online parent carer session to hear about your experiences of SEND services across Surrey (inspectors and Surrey Council will not be at these sessions)

We want to hear:

  • What is working well
  • What isn’t working
  • What you would like to see improved

This includes your experiences across education, health and social care.

You don’t need to know anything about SEND inspections or prepare anything in advance — just come along and share what matters to you and your family.

Your feedback will help Family Voice Surrey ensure that the experiences of local families are represented when we meet with inspectors.
