Transition to Secondary School Group – Supporting your child with their Mental Health

Roisin McVoy from Anna Freud Mental Health Charity will be our guest speaker at our February transition to Secondary School Group meeting.  She will be giving helpful advice about supporting children with their mental health as they transition to transitioning to Secondary School.

Anna Freud is a world leading children’s mental health charity, pioneering better mental health care and support for children, young people and their families for over 70 years. They have been the only children and young people’s mental health charity to combine neuroscientific research and innovation, clinical practice, training and dissemination. They work to understand and tackle the root causes of mental illness, by designing, testing and expanding new psychological approaches, interventions and models Schools Division.

Their vision is for all schools and colleges in the UK to be mentally healthy. Through their work, they support education staff to adopt a whole school and college approach to mental wellbeing, putting it at the heart of their communities. They produce evidence-based training, resources and programmes.
